Post-operative care

Following LASIK, you will see Doctor Grégoire to monitor healing. Depending on healing, you may have a second treatment to bring your vision even closer to normal. In some cases, glasses or contacts are still needed, but with a much weaker prescription. Finally, your doctor may want to see the results of the first LASIK before treating your other eye. But Doctor Grégoire usually can operate both eyes the same day.

Doctor Grégoire will monitor your recovery in the weeks following treatment. You can probably expect maximum improvement in your vision within three to four weeks.

Your vision will probably be a little blurry for the first few days after treatment.

A shield to protect the cornea as it heals may be placed over your eye and should be worn according to your doctor's instructions. Your doctor may also give you eyedrops to control pain, prevent infection and promote healing. They too should be used with careful attention to instructions.
